While I can understand you wanting some free ctrl-shortcuts, these would be
useful in lots of programs, so need standard shortcurts. The go back option is
very useful BTW.

Since control is used much like command on the mac, I would suggest alt is best
used like the mac's option key, ie configuration stuff, mostly app specific.

There's a graphics package that does IIRC. Anyway it is a potentially useful
feature, so should have a standard shortcut.

What's wrong with just iconifying?

I've never seen this exactly, but it sounds useful. Some programs have an
option to do the find dialogue preloaded with the selection, but I think the
way you describe is nicer.

`Reload' would be a better word were `load' used instead of `open'. Also most
programs for the mac and windoze use `revert'.

Sure, `neuladen' can be the German translation, but revert is still the best
English word IMO.
